His Excellency the Vice President, Prof. Abdullah Mustafah Mohurji, on behalf of His Excellency Rector Prof. Osama S. Tayeb, opened the 1435 Fulfillment and Excellency Awarding Ceremony for the Faculty of Medicine that was held on Tuesday, 07/07/1435H (06/05/2014G) in the Main Auditorium of the University Hospital.
The ceremony was attended by the Dean of Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Mahmoud Shaheen Al-Ahwal, and some executives from the Faculty, University Hospital, doctors, and large number of male and female students.
The ceremony is being done annually to recognize all its employees who showed dedication towards work. The ceremony honors the members of the faculty that will soon be retiring; employees who recently have a job promotion or achieved a scientific degree like master’s degree, professor, assistant professor; employees who showed outstanding performance toward their work (e.g. faculty members, consultants, specialist doctors, residents, technicians, nursing staff, administrators); employees who recently done an exceptional research; employees who showed good leadership; and lastly to employees who parted this world working and serving the Faculty and University Hospital.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Followed by an opening speech by Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and also thanking the committee that was lead by Dr. Fatin Sayes, the Vice Dean of Faculty of Medicine for Female Section, for their effort in arranging the ceremony. Afterwards, Abdullah Ajajah had a presentation regarding some major achievements of Faculty of Medicine and University Hospital.
Dr. Hassan Farsi expressed his sincere thanks on behalf of his colleagues in both Faculty of Medicine and University hospital. He also shared his deep sorrow for his colleagues who passed away. He described them as a family as they showed respect and affection to those around them and made a significant impact to the institution.
The ceremony concluded by presenting a special tribute from the staff to Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Mahmoud Shaheen Al-Ahwal, where he expressed his honor and joy for being a member of the Faculty of Medicine and University Hospital Family.
