King Abdulaziz University Hospital Speak Up Campaign

One of the visions of King Abdulaziz University Hospital in Jeddah is to motivate and increase the awareness of the patients and their families, encourage them to actively participate in their treatment plan. Studies showed the importance of discussing, frequent asking of questions, and attending consultations help the patients to understand the treatment process to achieve a speedy recovery.
The project was launched under the supervision of Project Manager Professor Alaa Bamahammad on Wednesday, the 15th of January 2014, with a slogan “Speak-Up Campaign”. The project also has the participation of various medical departments in the hospital, Patient Relations Department, Public Relations Department, and over ninety student volunteers were also involved.
An exhibit was organized with the approval and support of everyone. The exhibit gave the project the opportunity to inform the public to understand the objectives of the project. The exhibit has several booths, child support booth that have games and prizes activity, a booth dedicated for information and brochures to elaborate the concepts of “Speak-Up Campaign” to all attendees. A huge amount of attendees expressed their gratitude and appreciation to such campaigns that increases the health and medical awareness.
The Hospital has organized a ceremony and was inaugurated by Dr. Amro Al-Hibshi to honor all who have supported the project towards success. He also expressed his sincere thanks for the remarkable efforts and full support that were given by various sections. He also recommends that this project should be done annually.
