Prof. Abdulrahman Obaid Al-Youbi, the President of the University, lead the opening of a workshop entitled “Improving Health Services for Employees and Students of the University Workshop” that happened on Thursday, 17/03/1436H at the Institute of Tourism with the presence of Prof. Abdullah Mustafa Mohurji, Vice President of the University; together with the Vice Dean University Hospital Director, Dean of Dentistry, and more than 50 specialists from various fields in health and administration.
The workshop began with a speech by the Vice President of the University, Prof. Abdullah Mustafa Mohurji. In his speech, he evaluated the objectives of the workshop, future visions and improvements needed on providing health services for the university employee and students, and he also express his sincere thanks to all of the participants of the workshop. After the speech, the President of the University, Prof. Abdulrahman Obaid Al-Youbi, lead in the opening of the workshop and he pointed out that the importance of the workshop is to provide all university employees the necessary health services, and how to improve the providing of special services within the university campus and its affiliates. He also stressed that the university is giving their great efforts in providing health services to its employees thus the workshop was opened to gather and discuss topics on how to provide better health service.
After the opening speeches, Dr. Amro AlHibshi, Vice Dean University Hospital Director, presented a short lecture regarding the University Hospital. Dr. Amro AlHibshi stated that the University Hospital has a total bed capacity of 845 beds, of which the largest hospital in the region; and the University Hospital shall provides all medical services in accordance to the vision and mission adopted by the hospital to both employees of the university and the society.
The Dean of Faculty of Dentistry, Prof. Abdulghani Mira, also made a presentation regarding the summary of health services provided by the University Hospital of Dentistry.
Afterwards Prof. Abdullah Mustafa Mohurji, Vice President of the University, has presided the workshop. He began discussing 3 major points. First was medical management. Second was to discuss methods in dealing with emergency situations. And lastly, University Hospital and University Hospital of Dentistry shall provide the necessary services to the university employees.
At the conclusion of the workshop, various resolutions, proposals, and recommendations were made hoping to raise the level of health services being provided to the employees and affiliates of King Abdulaziz University.
