King Abdulaziz University Hospital and the Society of Diabetic Patient Friends Launches World Diabetes Day: “Eyes on the Diabetes”

Organized by the Society of Diabetic Patient Friends in Jeddah, King Abdulaziz University Hospital has opened the World Diabetes Day under the auspices of the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and under the supervision of the Head of Society of Diabetic Patient Friends Ms. Hanan Sarhan.
The World Diabetes Day this year which was guided by the International Diabetes Federation organization to direct all attention to diabetic patients by focusing on the very important messages which is early detection to diagnosis of type II diabetes mellitus to reduce the risk of complications of diabetes , the importance of early diagnosis, Effects of neglect in the control of diabetes which is one of the major cause of heart disease and vascular and eye diseases that can lead to vision loss, kidney disease, and renal failure.
More than 645 million, and one might be living with diabetes for solutions in 2040, so it is very important diabetes management and control and early detection of infection to limit its complications A visit to the doctor from time to time, conducting follow-up tests, consulting to a dietician, and attending to health educations regarding diabetes are important for a diabetic patient to perform to prevent further diabetic complications. Open to the general public, the event has various exhibition booths from which anybody, with or without diabetes can check their blood glucose level, blood pressure, weight, measure cumulative sugar.
Various medical companies have also participate in the said event where of which they showcase their latest innovations and defining patients the different kinds of blood glucose meter devices, insulin pump. Various departments from the University Hospital also participated in charitable services like the pharmacy unit community service, physical therapy, and the dental clinic were all integrated work in the health care delivery team for diabetics.
