Impact of Nurses' role in the accreditation cycle

In our journey towards the 2nd cycle of Accreditation process, there has been an increasing demand on the nurses to participate in wide-range of quality improvement activities. Nurses are integral to patient care and have pivotal roles to hospital quality improvement.
This is one of the challenges that confronts Nursing Department, with regard to nursing involvement, due to shortages of nursing resources, however with the collective efforts of nurses in all units, we managed to engage nurses at all levels, from bedside to management to participate, get involved, be heard and create a hospital culture supportive of quality improvement and promoting patient safety.
Our nurses will continue to play key roles in the quest for higher quality, better patient safety as well as promoting organizational effectiveness.
